Paul Bickett

Paul Raymond Bickett, age 69, of Arlington past away Friday, April 29 at Brookings Health System in Brookings South Dakota.

Paul was born February 18, 1953 on the way to Madison Hospital to Stanley and Donna (Johnson) Bickett of Oldham South Dakota. Paul attended his 12 years of school at Oldham High School. After graduating Paul found his calling as a long haul trucker. Paul spent many nights on the open road. Including the night that he meet Carol Shellabarger.

Paul was on his way home from one of those long road trips and happened to meet Carol, they fell in love and got married on October 28, 1978. They decided to purchase a home in Lake Preston South Dakota where they raised their family. Paul enjoyed working on his truck, yard work and gardening. Paul was an avid gardener who loved to try new kinds of vegetables.

As Paul’s health began to decline he was admitted into the Arlington nursing home on April 2016 until his passing.

Paul is most known for his Shy, demeanor, gardening skills and dislike for clothing.

Paul is survived by his two children son Raymond (Jenny) their two children Remington and Jamison of Arlington. Son Ryan (Annie) of Lake Preston. Brother Mike (Connie) of Oldham South Dakota.  sister Susan (Rick) Soma of Oldham South Dakota, Ex-wife Carol and stepchildren Patty and Sandy, several step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Donna Bickett, brother Terry Bickett, stepson Richard Schillinger

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Johnson & Henry Funeral Home.
