Bernice Cronin, 94, of Sioux Falls passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls.  Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 9 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Sioux Falls.  Visitation with family present will begin at 5:30 pm on Wednesday with a 7 pm prayer service at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.

Bernice Rotert was born August 18, 1927 in Salem, SD to Bernard and Mary (Hoff) Rotert.  She grew up in Salem and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.  On December 28, 1953 she married Dan Cronin at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salem.  They lived in Pierre for many years where Bernice worked for the Department of Transportation for 35 years.  They later moved to Sioux Falls where Bernice lived the remainder of her life.

Bernice was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.  She enjoyed gardening, playing solitare and doing word puzzles.

Bernice is survived by: her son, Tim of Sioux Falls; siblings, Juanita Lauer of Salem, Vince Rotert of Sioux Falls, Jerome (Betty) Rotert of Huron, Carol Sabers of Sioux Falls and Dick Rotert of Sioux Falls; a sister-in-law, Vivian Rotert of Ft. Dodge, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dan, her siblings, Rosie Rotert, Gene (Gloria) Rotert, Ralph Rotert, Leroy (Janet) Rotert and in-laws, Don Lauer, Lyle Sabers and Leanne Rotert.
