BeDeane Kurth

BeDeane Kurth, 92, of Salem, passed away on February 24, 2024 at Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater.  Services are pending.

BeDean Kurth was born January 18, 1932 near Bridgewater, SD to Fred and Myrtle (Thomas) Kurth.  He grew up in the area and graduated from Bridgewater High School.  BeDeane farmed all his life.  He milked, raised cattle and pigs, sold seed corn and was a crop farmer.  He married Mildred Schultz on March 29, 1960 in Scotland, SD.  BeDean was a 4-H leader for 39 years.  He was currently a member of the United Church of Canistota and had served several offices and on the church board at Union Presbyterian before it’s closing.

BeDeane is survived by:  his daughter, Denise of Salem; brother, Jerry (Connie) Kurth of Bridgewater; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Kurth of Mitchell, Alice Schmeichel of Bridgewater, and Elnora (Ron) Unruh of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred, and brother, Verle Kurth.
