Chester Area School Board Set for Vote on Superintendent

The Chester Area School Board is scheduled to hold their regular monthly meeting tonight. An executive session is scheduled to discuss personnel, followed by a vote on whether or not to renew the contract of Superintendent Heath Larson.

According to an anonymous email sent to a number of media outlets, and later confirmed by members in attendance, Chester School board president Darin Seeley told staff members on December 1st about the possibility of Larson’s contract not being renewed.

During their November meeting the school board held a two hour executive session, mostly without Larson. A nearly two hour executive session was also held during the October meeting, also mostly without the Superintendent.

Heath Larson has been the Superintendent of the Chester Area district since 2013.

Tonight’s Chester Area School Board meeting is scheduled to start at 5:30 in the Chester High School lunchroom.
