Madison Legion Begins Season With Road Win

Opening up the 2020 summer season, the Madison Legion team jumped out to a 9-0 advantage after 2 1/2 innings, cruising to a 19-3 win at Dell Rapids on Wednesday night. Dells committed 7 errors. Madison scored three runs in the first, four in the second, two in the third and then three in the sixth, with seven in the seventh.
Zach Whitlock had 3 hits and 5 RBI’s to pace the Madison offense. Tyler Tappe pitched the first 4 1/3 for the visitors, who moved to 1-0 on the season. Madison League will be back in action this weekend, in a doubleheader Saturday at Humboldt/Hartford.
