Hawkes, Nelson, and Peterreins Finish Top 3 at Class A Meet

The Madison Track and Field team had multiple top three finishes on the second day of the SDHSAA Class A meet. 

Aaron Hawkes was the highest placing finisher for the Bulldogs, with a second place Pole Vault of 14’6. 

The Lady Bulldogs had two different athletes finish third, with Audrey Nelson in the High Jump (5’4) and Ella Peterreins in the Pole Vault (T-3rd, 10’).

Some of the other athletes for Madison on Day Two included Jessie Tappe placing 23rd in the 3200m Run (12:26.84), Shane Veenhoff finishing 10th in the 300m Hurdles Prelims (42.78), Ellie Keller with a 22nd place finish in the 800m Run (2:31.10), and Ben Brooks also 22nd in the Triple Jump (38’2).

Multiple Bulldogs will compete on the final day of the Class A State meet today, starting with Ben Brooks in the Long Jump at 9:30am.
