Weekend COVID-19 update: 29 deaths in state; active cases decrease in Lake County
The state Department of Health reported 29 more COVID-19 deaths over the weekend. The state has had a total of 1585 COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Another 738 new positive COVID-19 cases were reported over the weekend also, bringing the state’s overall total to more than 103-thousand. There are currently just more than five-thousand active cases in the state, and 237 people are currently hospitalized.
Lake County reported six new positive COVID-19 cases since Friday, along with twelve recovered cases. The county’s number of active cases has decreased to 54.
In our area, McCook, Moody and Brookings counties also reported a decrease in active cases over the weekend, while Miner and Kingsbury counties reported slight increases.
