The state Department of Health reported close to 300 new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the state’s overall total number of positive cases to nearly 119-thousand since the start of the pandemic.  The number of active cases in the state increased to more than 25-hundred yesterday, while 94 people were hospitalized.  No new COVID-19 deaths were reported Wednesday.

Lake County reported eleven new positive COVID-19 cases yesterday and no new recovered cases.  Active cases in the county increased to 51.

The only area county to report an increase in active cases Wednesday was Kingsbury County, which had 59 active COVID-19 cases.  

The state also reported that 47-percent of the state’s population had received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 32-percent had completed their vaccination series.
