Wednesday COVID-19 update: hospitalizations increase, active cases decrease in state
The state Department of Health reported an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations on Tuesday. The number of people hospitalized because of the virus went up from 88 Monday to 98 on Tuesday. The state reported more than 160 new positive COVID-19 cases yesterday, with no new virus related deaths and the number of active cases at just more than 24-hundred.
Lake County reported no new positive or recovered COVID-19 cases, so the number of active cases in the county remained at 40 Tuesday.
Area counties reported minor changes in their active cases yesterday. Kingsbury County had 57, McCook County-20, Miner County reported 8, and Moody County had six active COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday. Brookings County reported 147 active cases.
