State Senate democratic leader reflects on past week

State lawmakers return to Pierre today for the only five-day week of the thirty-eight day session.  Senate Minority Leader Reynold Nesiba of Sioux Falls said last week that democrats focused on a few issues this past week.

Legislators approved a bill that would cut unemployment fees to state businesses by eighteen-million dollars. Nesiba said democrats opposed that change.

Nesiba said they also want to finish the redistricting work that is still outstanding.

This week in the state legislature includes the deadline for bill introductions by individuals and committees.
