State DOH reports 12 COVID-19 deaths, decrease in active cases

The state Department of Health reported an additional twelve COVID-19 deaths on Monday. Two of them are in Brookings County. The overall total number of COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic is at 2742.

Active cases have decreased statewide to just more than 13-thousand, and the number of people hospitalized with the virus decreased to 259.

Lake County had 96 active COVID-19 cases as of Monday, and community spread of the virus in the county was decreased to substantial. The remainder of the area counties remained at high community spread as of Monday.
