Sioux Falls man sentenced on probation violation in Lake County

A Sioux Falls man will serve time in the state penitentiary for violating his probation on two felony charges.  21-year-old Mitchell Rust was sentenced on the probation violation this week in Lake County Circuit Court.  Rust was sentenced in May of last year on felony charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and aggravated eluding .  At that time, Rust received suspended penitentiary sentences and was placed on supervised probation.  Rust recently admitted to violating the terms of his probation.  For the Possession of a Stolen Vehicle charge, Circuit Judge Pat Pardy ordered Rust to serve the four-year prison sentence that had previously been suspended, with credit given for 113 days previously served.  The judge also sentenced Rust to serve the two-year prison sentence that had previously been suspended on the Aggravated Eluding charge, with credit for 83 days previously served.  Judge Pardy ordered that both of Rust’s sentences run concurrent to one another. Â
