Governor Kristi Noem on Thursday announced a new app for residents to use during the COVID-19 outbreak.  Noem says the state has teamed up with North Dakota for the new app called CARE-19.

The app uses location services, like other apps, so users can keep track of where they have been in the community.

Noem says the app is completely anonymous and voluntary. She says users can opt out or erase their data at any time.

Noem says this app will be very useful for those with essential jobs who may not  be able to stay home.

The app is available through people’s tablets, smartphones or other devices, or it can be downloaded by visiting the covid.sd.gov website.
