Madison man sentenced on drug charge

A 23-year-old Madison man has been sentenced on a felony drug ingestion charge.  Tanner Dam was sentenced this week in Lake County Circuit Court on one count of Unauthorized Ingestion of a Controlled Drug or Substance.   Dam had earlier plead guilty to the charge as part of a plea agreement in which several other charges he had been indicted on were dismissed.

Circuit Judge Patrick Pardy sentenced Dam to serve three years in the state penitentiary, but suspended the time based on several conditions.  The judge ordered Dam to be on supervised probation for three years and serve 20 days in the Lake County Jail.  He also ordered him to pay fine, costs and restitution totaling more than 11-hundred dollars and to re-pay his court appointed attorney’s fees, among several other conditions of the suspended sentence.
