Madison City Commission Approved the Restricted Use Site

At the City Commission meeting on Monday one of the major topics of discussion was the approval for purchase of new land for a restricted use site (RUS). The property would be purchased for 547,800 paid out over the course of 3 years. City Administrator Jameson Berreth spoke on where the new restricted use site would be 

 

Not everyone was happy with the proposed new location of the RUS. Patricia Schafer was one of the people who spoke on some key concerts that she and others had with the new potential site including water contamination, Potential for littering and Rubble spreading, decrease in nearby property value, Road Condition Concerns, and potential livestock health concerns.

 

The mayor spoke on the current RUS and why they are planning on moving it to this new location.

 

 

The City approved in a 3-1 vote to go ahead with the plan to purchase the land for the conditional use site. The next City Commission meeting will be on Monday, July 24 at 5:30 PMÂ
