Lake County Commission sets upcoming holiday days for county employees

The Lake County Commission decided during its meeting on Tuesday when to have its employees observe the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.  Because Christmas Day and New Years Day each fall on a Saturday this year, commissioners decided to have county employees take Monday, December 27th as a holiday day and also Friday, December 31st.  

Commission Administrative Officer Shelli Gust told commissioners that the county has in its policy that four hours of leave is observed for employees also on Christmas Eve Day, which this year is on Friday, December 24th. 

Commissioners met in executive session to discuss personnel matters at the end of Tuesday’s meeting.  After the executive session, commissioners approved a motion approving the termination of Ryan McVey, a full-time Transport Deputy and Correctional Officer, effective November 23rd.
