Juvenile in Custody After Stealing Vehicle

A juvenile was taken into custody last week, after a short pursuit in Lake County. Madison Police Chief Justin Meyer said the juvenile stole a vehicle from the Maison High School on Monday, May 22nd. 

The subject was traveling at a high rate of speed on Washington Ave. At approximately the time when the vehicle reached the intersection of SE 10th and Washington Ave, Madison police attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle fled south at that time.  

After approximately a 3-mile pursuit the subject abandoned the vehicle and was taken into custody. 

Charges are pending currently.
