Friday COVID-19 update: five deaths in state; two new positive cases in Lake County

The state Department of Health reports five additional COVID-19 deaths Friday, bringing the state’s overall total to 1768.  The state also reports 160 new positive COVID-19 cases, just more than three-thousand active cases, and 152 currently hospitalized because of the virus.

The state reports two new positive cases in Lake County, along with four recovered cases.  Lake County now has 49 active COVID-19 cases.

In our area, Kingsbury County currently has 25 active cases, Moody County-24, and Miner County has 23 active COVID-19 cases.  McCook County reports six active coronavirus cases Friday, and Brookings County has 154.  

As of Friday, the state reports that more than 66-thousand residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 26-thousand have received both.
