DSU Hosts Lemonade Camp

DSUs entrepreneurial center, local business partners, and the outreach group CybHER are hosting their second annual Lemonade Camp from July 10-13 in Madison.

Students ages 9 -11 will learn business and science principles and break into groups to develop a marketing plan for a literal lemonade stand, which will be set up at several locations in Madison on Thursday, July 13. Proceeds from the stands will benefit local charities. Over $4,800 was raised through last year’s camp.

Each group will have mentors from the Dakota State College of Business and Information Systems, the Madison business community, and CybHER. Some campers who attended in 2022 will have the opportunity to work on their own business ideas, including pet care, publishing, engineering, concessions, crafts, and elder care.

A second camp is scheduled for August 14-17 at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls.
