Lake County Commission Talks about Applying for Federal Funds

Many items were discussed at the County Commission meeting yesterday. They approved temporary malt beverage licenses for the Shipwreck, St. Peter on the Prairie, and Hef’s. They also spoke about a potential deal with the SD DOT where 75 Million dollars would be made available for local bridge replacements. Administrative Officer Shelli Gust spoke more about how Lake County hopes to apply for these federal funds if they are approved by the SD DOT.

Shelli Gust also gave a presentation on the State of employment, some concerning data, and why people aren’t working as much in not only Lake County but the State of South Dakota as a whole.

The next Lake County Commission meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 1st.
