Community invited to DSU Welcome Back Picnic

Members of the Madison and Dakota State University communities are invited to a Welcome Back Picnic next Wednesday. The picnic will be held on September 8th at 5:30 at the Madison Public Library Park.

Nicole Claussen, director of International Programs at DSU, said the picnic is held annually to show all DSU students that the Madison community appreciates their contribution to the city.

DSU International Programs, Dakota State, and DSU LIVE Productions are sponsors of the event, along with the Madison Public Library, Friends of the Madison Public Library, KJAM, Sodexo, and Madison Area Stands Together (or MAST).

There will be a welcome by the mayor of Madison, along with music, games, henna tattoos, and face painting. In past years this event has been a potluck, but due to COVID-19, all of the food will be provided this year.
