City of Madison looking for people to serve on local boards

The City of Madison is looking for people to serve on a couple of local boards.  City Administrator Jameson Berreth told Madison City Commissioners Monday that he is going to start announcing when there are terms expiring on the boards or committees that the city appoints people to serve on.  Berreth said that he hopes by making the announcement that they may reach people who are interested in serving.

Berreth said that currently there are two seats open on the city’s Library Board, each to serve a three-year term.  He said that the city is also in the process of figuring out appointments for the Madison Housing and Redevelopment Commission.  Berreth said there are five members on the commission, each serving five-year terms, but he said that the city hasn’t been keeping up with its appointments to this board.

Berreth said that the city will need to take action soon on getting the appointments to the Madison Housing and Redevelopment Commission figured out.

Berreth said that anyone interested in serving on a city board should contact City Hall and get an application to fill out and return.
