City commission adopts Comprehensive Land Use plan

The Madison City Commission and Planning Commission met jointly during the city commission’s regular meeting Monday to go through the final steps of adopting an update to the city’s Comprehensive Land Use plan.  The two boards held a public hearing and Luke Muller, Senior Planner for First District Association of Local Governments, provided an update on the final draft of the plan.

Muller said that the Planning Commission met a number of times over the past couple of years in putting together the update to the Comprehensive Land Use plan.  The plan is for the years 2022 through 2040.

After the public hearing, the City’s Planning Commission recommended the approval of the Comprehensive Land Use plan to the City Commissioners.  The commissioners then voted unanimously to adopt a resolution adopting the plan.
