The Madison City Commission has approved an agreement for an Interim Finance Advisor in light of the recent resignation of the city’s Finance Officer.  On Monday, commissioners approved a professional services agreement for Jeff Heinemeyer, a former Finance Officer for the city, to serve as the city’s Interim Finance Advisor temporarily until a new Finance Officer can be hired.  Last week, commissioners accepted the resignation of former city Finance Officer Jennifer Eimers.

During Monday’s meeting, Commissioner Mike Waldner outlined some of what Heinemeyer will provide in services for the city.

The agreement states that Heinemeyer’s finance and accounting services will be on a week to week basis for 20-to-40 hours a week, at a fee of 75-dollars an hour.

Waldner said that Finance Commissioner Adam Shaw and other city employees will assist in Heinemeyer’s work.

Commissioners Monday unanimously approved authorizing the mayor to sign the professional services agreement with Heinemeyer. Â
