Accident Wednesday night near Madison

First responders were called to the intersection of SD Hwy 34 and 456th Ave at approximately 5:45pm  Wednesday for an injury accident .  A 2015 Acura MDX driven by a 25-year-old man from Madison was traveling north on 456th Ave when he failed to yield to a vehicle traveling west on Hwy 34.  

The Acura struck the side of a 2010 Kia Soul driven by a 58-year-old male from Colman.  A passenger in the Kia was taken to the hospital for treatment.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene. 

The driver of the Acura was cited for failure to yield the right of way.  Responding agencies included Madison Police Dept, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Madison and Wentworth Fire Departments and the Madison Regional Health Ambulance.
