Heartland Energy and KJAM Radio Student of the Month

A Colman/Egan High School senior has been named this month’s Student of the Month by Heartland Energy and KJAM Radio

Jonathon “Jonny” Keyes is a multi-sport student athlete at Colman-Egan High School and has earned numerous honors thus far for his efforts in and out of the classroom.

Keyes participates in football, basketball and track, and earned DVC All-Conference honors for football this year. He’s known as a hard worker and enjoys spending his free time in the weight room with friends.

Keyes is a member of the National Honor Society and attended Boys State earlier this year. He’s been a member of the school’s A Honor Roll since 2020 and was named 2023 Homecoming King.

Keyes is the son of Jeff and Jennifer Keyes. After high school, he plans to study exercise science at the University of South Dakota to pursue a career as a physical therapist.

The “Student of the Month” is awarded through a partnership of Heartland Energy and KJAM Radio in Madison and recognizes exceptional students in one of five area school districts. Heartland Energy provides wholesale power to the cities of Arlington, Colman, Howard, Madison and Volga, all of which are in the KJAM listening area. Officials from each participating school nominate students for the award.
