Kirchner named NSAA Pitcher-of-the-week

DSU Sophomore pitcher JD Kirchner has been selected as the North Star Athletic Association Pitcher-of-the-Week. It’s the second time this season he has received the award.

Kirchner pitched a complete game victory over Valley City State on Friday, a win that marked the school record 14th win in the NSAA for the Trojans this season. Kirchner gave up just two runs on four hits and recorded five strikeouts in that game.

Kirchner is now 5-3 in the 10 games he’s started this season. The Sophomore from Lennox has tossed 49 1/3 innings, with 54 strikeouts.

Dakota State baseball is back at home tonight, taking on Northwestern at 6pm at Flynn Field. DSU then wraps up their baseball regular-season schedule on Friday and Saturday, taking on Bellevue.
