Madison & Area Wrestling From Saturday

Madison Wrestling placed fifth as a team on Saturday at the Huron Invite, with 143 points and Chester finished in 13th place. Winner was the team champion, totalling 236 points. Sam Olson took home the championship at the 120 weight class to lead the Bulldogs. Truman Stoller (113), AJ Peters (145) and Colby Mennis (160) all placed second and Thomas Seppela was third at 195 to lead the highlights for Madison. Next up will be the Region 1A Meet in Brookings this Saturday.

Howard hosted the Holland Invite dual meet on Saturday, placing fourth as a team. In Pool play, they defeated Marion/Freeman 68-12 and lost to Burke/Gregory 46-22. Then in the third place match they fell to Parker 39-28. Canton defeated Burke/Gregory 50-24 in the championship. Howard Wrestling will now be at the Region 2B tournament on Saturday in Salem.

Dell Rapids picked up a pair of dual victories Saturday, defeating Sioux Falls Roosevelt 53-18 and Sioux Falls Lincoln 68-10. Dell Rapids will also be at the Region 1A Meet in Brookings on Saturday.
