Shawn Donaldson

Shawn “Red” Donaldson, age 57, of Madison, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. A private celebration of life will be held.

Shawn was born on June 29, 1964, in Sioux Falls, to Chester and Val (Stalhiem) Donaldson. He held various jobs over the years including Bartcher Construction, and for Tony at Dakota Plating before moving to Madison where he worked for Jerimiah at ACS. All of Red’s employers thought very highly of him and his huge heart. Throughout his life he remained close to his high school friend Monty Clausen. Above all else, he loved his pitbull Bran. Red considered all of his friends “family”.

He is survived by his siblings, Kim, Scott, and Troy Donaldson all of Mitchell; his three children, James, April, and Faith all of Sioux Falls. Red was loved by many and will be missed.
