Michele Gran

Michele (Johnson) Gran, age 49, of Madison, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at Diamond Care
Center, Bridgewater.
Memorial service will be 11AM on Friday, January 6th at Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Karl
Breddin officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service begins. A private family inurnment
will take place in Graceland Cemetery in the summer of 2023. Online guestbook can be signed at

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
Michele “Shelly” Ann Johnson was born June 25, 1973 in Madison, SD to Jerry & Mary (Rahlf) Johnson.
She graduated from Madison High School in 1991. She continued her education at Dakota State and
received her Associates degree in Medical Records and later graduated from SE Tech with an Associates
degree in Financial Services. Michele worked for Wells Fargo in Sioux Falls for 25 years and worked for a
brief time at East River Credit Union as a loan officer.
In 2006, her son, Tayten was born. From the day he was born, everything was about Tayten. She moved
from Humboldt and back to Madison just so Tayten could grow up in his mom’s hometown. She stayed
busy with attending Tayten’s activities and her own. Michele will be remembered for her sense of
humor. Just recently, Michele told Jenn to call before she comes over because she might be too busy
for her to stop over!
Shelly’s family asks for you not to remember the Shelly of the last 18 months, but to remember the
Shelly that was quick with a smile, giggle or some silly comment and that she fought how she wanted to,
which was independently.
She is survived by her son, Tayten of Madison; mother, Mary Johnson of Mitchell, formerly of Madison;
sister, Jenn (Brennan) Yeo of Alexandria, SD; two nephews, Gunnar and Bridger Yeo both of Alexandria,
SD; special uncle, Roger Johnson, who helped more than we can say in the last 18 months; and many
extended family.
Michele was preceded in death by her dad, Jerry.
