Four additional COVID-19 deaths were reported in the state over the weekend, including one in Lake County.  Statewide, 19-hundred people have died with COVID-19, and 18 of them were Lake County residents.  

Lake County reported fourteen new positive COVID-19 cases since Friday, along with three recovered cases.  The number of active cases in Lake County increased to 46 over the weekend. 

Other area counties also reported increases in active COVID-19 cases, including McCook and Kingsbury counties, which now have fourteen active cases, Moody County has 12, and Miner County reported 11 active cases as of Sunday.  Brookings County had 64 active coronavirus cases as of Sunday.

Statewide, an additional 360 positive COVID-19 cases were reported, and the number of active cases in the state increased to 2158.  72 were hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Sunday.

The state Department of Health reported 32-percent of the state’s population had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while close to 21-percent had received both doses.
