Another 46 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the state over the weekend.  Five of those deaths are residents of area counties, including one in Lake County, and two each in McCook and Brookings counties. The state’s total number of virus-related deaths is now at 1110.

The state Department of Health also reported close to 16-hundred new positive COVID-19 cases statewide since Friday.  The state’s total number of positive cases since the start of the pandemic is close to 86-thousand.  Currently, 16-thousand-432 of the cases are active statewide, and  497 people are hospitalized.

Lake County reported another thirteen positive COVID-19 cases, ten recovered cases, and the one death since Friday.  This puts Lake County’s overall totals at 902 positive coronavirus cases, 727 recovered cases, and twelve deaths.  There are currently 163 active COVID-19 cases in Lake County, and 34 residents have ever been hospitalized. 

Elsewhere in our area, McCook County reported 115 active cases as of Sunday, Moody County had 96, and Kingsbury County had 81.  Miner County reported 36 active COVID-19 cases, and Brookings County had 438.
