Friday is the first day for people to start circulating petitions for the Madison City and Madison Central School Board elections.

There are two seats up for election on both the Madison City Commission and the Madison Central School Board.  The two commissioners whose terms expire this year are Bob Thill and Mike Waldner.  The two school board members are Lori Schultz and Steve Nelson.  Both city commissioners and school board members serve three year terms.

Petitions are available in the city Finance Office or the Madison Central Business Office, or they can be downloaded and printed from the Secretary of State’s website.  The deadline to file petitions is February 26th.  Petitions either need to be submitted to the respective offices by that date, or be postmarked through registered mail.

A joint election for the city of Madison and Madison Central School Board is scheduled for April 13th.
