Madison theater offering free matinee movies on Wednesdays
With the Madison Aquatic Center not opening this summer due to needed electrical repairs and safety concerns, the City of Madison is hoping to help provide entertainment for kids this summer. The latest is a partnership with Dakota Cinema to provide a free matinee movie every Wednesday afternoon. Dakota Cinema plays movies each Wednesday at 1:30, but now the cost of the movie will be covered by the city. For kids who need a ride to the movie theater, there will be a bus available with six bus stop locations around the city. The free Wednesday movies begin next Wednesday, June 23rd and go through August 11th. Â
The bus route will start at 12:45pm. Below are the list of locations and approximate pick up times:
- The Old Washington School on North Lincoln Avenue –12:45pm
- St. John’s Lutheran Church on North Grant Avenue – 12:48pm
