A third confirmed positive case of COVID-19 has been reported within the Madison Central School District.  Superintendent Joel Jorgenson said Saturday that the positive case is an 8th grade student at Madison Middle School.  He said the district is working with the state Department of Health on identifying any close contacts of the student who has tested positive  and will notify them accordingly.  Jorgenson has said that the definition of close contact is to be within six feet of a person for fifteen minutes.

The first confirmed positive case in the district was identified in a Middle School student on September 10th and the second in a student or staff member at Madison High School on September 21st.
