Lake County Courthouse renovation project nearly completed

A large plumbing project within the Lake County Courthouse is nearing completion.  County Buildings and Grounds Superintendent Dave Hare discussed the project with Lake County Commissioners during their meeting on Tuesday.  Hare told commissioners that the project, which included work within all of the bathrooms in the courthouse, is running ahead of schedule.

Hare said that there is a meeting with the architect for the project and the contractors this Friday and the exact date of substantial completion will be determined at that time.  The current date of substantial completion for the plumbing project is June 5th.

On Tuesday, commissioners approved a couple of change orders for the project.  The original contract for the project was more than 333-thousand dollars.  With the change orders approved on Tuesday and at a prior meeting, the new contract sum is at just more than 357-thousand dollars.
