Governor says state’s COVID-19 mitigation efforts are helping

Governor Kristi Noem on Wednesday said that she had spent a lot of time in the last day talking to federal officials about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her conversations included one with Dr. Anthony Fauci, who’s a leading expert on this crisis, and whose been advising President Trump throughout this process.

The governor said they had a good discussion about what the state is doing.

Noem said the peak number of infections in South Dakota is being lowered through mitigation efforts.

The governor said she’s been practicing all of the mitigation efforts she’s been asking of others.  Noem said she has not been tested for the virus, and feels great.
