Friday COVID-19 update: 31 deaths in state; 8 new positive cases in Lake County

Another 31 COVID-19 deaths are being reported Friday in the state.  The state Department of Health reports 31 people have died, bringing the state’s total number of deaths to 1064.

An additional 1050 new positive COVID-19 cases are also being reported Friday.  The state now has a total of more than 84-thousand positive cases, with close to 16-thousand of them currently active.  There are 516 people hospitalized at this time because of the virus.

Lake County reports another eight positive COVID-19 cases, along with eight recovered cases Friday. The number of active cases in Lake County remains at 161, and 34 residents have ever been hospitalized.

In the area, McCook County has 113 active COVID-19 cases, Kingsbury County has 83, and Moody County has 80 active cases.  Miner County reports 36 active COVID-19 cases as of Friday, and Brookings County has 419.
