The Lake County Equalization Office is encouraging any property owners in the county who have suffered property damage or loss because of recent flooding to contact the office to request a physical review.  Equalization Director Rick Becker said that damage will be documented to determine the potential for a value reduction as of November 1st, 2019, which is the legal assessment date for the 2020 (current) Assessment Year.

Damage may include, but is not limited to: structural damages such as collapsed, or damage to foundations and basements; and interior or exterior finishes, such as finished areas in basements or main floor that have damage to walls or floors.  Becker said that outbuildings that may have structural damage should also be reported to the Equalization Office.

Anyone who needs to report structural damage or who has any questions regarding this should contact the Lake County Equalization Office at 256-7605.
