53 youth softball teams were in Madison this weekend for the annual Interlakes Youth Softball Association Tournament. Five age divisions, from 10 and under to 18 and under, took part in the three day event. Games began with pool play on Friday and Saturday, and concluded with tournament play on Sunday.
In the B division of 10U, the Madison Wildcats took 1st place with a 3-2 overall record, Colman-Egan was 2nd with a 2-3 record.
In 12U it was Madison SWAT taking 1st place in the B Division, after starting 1-3 in pool play before winning 3 games on Sunday. Chester, Tri-Valley, and Arlington each won 2 games in their pool to qualify for the “A” Division bracket. All three teams were eliminated before the Championship game, which was won by Dakota Valley.
In the 14U age class, team Thunderstruck from Madison went 3-2, falling in the “A” Division semifinals. In the “B” Division it was Howard picking up the title over Salem.
A pair of wins in pool play qualified Madison Rage for the “A” Division of the 16U age category. The Rage then defeated the Marshall Tigers on Sunday in the semi’s before falling to the Hartford Sparx in the championship game.
