After the 38-21 Homecoming football win over University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point this past Saturday, two Trojans were recognized by the North Star Athletic Association for their fine performances. Senior Running Back Brodie Fredericksen was chosen as the Offensive-Player-Of-The- Week and Junior Safety Wyatt Sanford was named Defensive-Player-Of-The-Week.

Fredericksen posted 223 yards on 23 carries and scored four touchdowns. On the season, Brodie has amassed 514 rushing yards and seven touchdowns with 660 all purpose yards, which is third in the NAIA across the nation. It was the second time in Fredericksen’s DSU career that he has eclipsed 200 yards in a game.

Sanford had a day to remember as he helped the DSU defense set a school record with six interceptions on the day with three of them by himself! All three of his picks lead to scoring drives by DSUs offense in the game. Sanford also added 3 tackles.

It was the second time this season that Dakota State Football has had two players named to one of the three players-of-the-week spots (Week 1, Cole McCarty and Casey Bourque). Even after the win, Coach Anderson knows there is work to be done.

DSU is at Valley City State University Saturday to open up conference play.
