Two DSU Athletes Named NSAA Players of the Week

A pair of Dakota State University athletes were honored with NSAA awards this week.  DSU sophomore infielder Aidan Perry was selected by the North Star Athletic Association as the Baseball Player-of-the-Week.

Perry recorded at least two hits and scored at least a run in all four games last weekend, fueling the Trojans to their four-game sweep of Dickinson State.

Perry opened the four-game series by going 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run, then finished Friday by going perfect 3-for-3 in the second game with an RBI, stolen base, and a run score in Trojans’ 11-3 victory

Dakota State baseball remained undefeated at home this season with an 8-0 record.

The Trojans are 28-9 overall this season, and visit Valley City State this Friday and Saturday.

DSU Senior Treshawn Roberts was honored by the North Star Tuesday as the Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week. Roberts shattered a 24-year-old school pole vault school record at the University of South Dakota Early Bird on April 6 in Vermillion.  He cleared the pole vault at 15 feet, 5.5 inches to finish in a three-way tie for fifth.

Roberts’ mark surpassed the previous record held by Jon Peterreins of 14 feet, 7 inches, set back in 2000.
