Strong Second Inning Helps Flandreau Outlast the Dells

The Flandreau Cardinals got back on track last night with a win against the struggling Dell Rapids PBR, thanks in large part to a strong third inning, getting seven runs in the inning.

PBR had taken a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the second, keeping it close, but after the seven-run third inning from the Cardinals, PBR did not have much of an answer. Even if PBR did have an answer it would not be enough to top the Cardinals.

Each team got four more runs after the third, with Cardinals getting one in the fifth and three in the sixth and PBR getting one in both the fourth and the seventh before getting two in the bottom of the ninth.

Cardinals beat PBR with a final score of 13-7. Both teams had double-digit hits with Flandreau getting 12 hits and the Dells hitting 11 times.

Dell Rapids PBR will host the Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks on Thursday at 7:30pm, and Flandreau will travel to red-hot Lennox Alpacas at 7:30 on Thursday.
