Sioux Falls Christian wins Region 3A Track & Field titles

The Sioux Falls Christian Boys and Girls swept their way to the team titles on Thursday, at the Region 3A Track & Field Meet in Lennox. The Charger Boys won the meet with 271 points, West Central was 2nd with 118. The Madison boys finished in 4th place with 99 points. 

On the track for the Bulldogs, Bruce Galde took 5th place in the 100 meter dash, and Deion Cross was 3rd in the 800. The 4×100 relay team finished 4th for the Bulldogs. Madison also finished 3rd in the 4×200, and 4×800, and 5th in the Medley. 

Kaden Hanscom was 2nd in the long jump, while Mike Peters and Ben Brooks finished 4th and 5th in the triple jump. Parker Johnson added a 4th place finish in the shot put, and Colbey Vostad was 4th in the discus. 

The Madison Girls finished in 3rd place. Lani Misar was 5th in the 1600 meter run. The girls 4×100 relay team placed 3rd and the 4×200 team was 4th. The Bulldogs also took 5th in the 4×800 and the medley. 

Audrey Nelson was the star of the day for Madison. The sophomore placed 1st in the high jump, and set a new meet record of 5 feet 5 inches. Bella Maxwell took 3rd in the shot put, and 2nd in the discus. Abby Morse added a 3rd place finish in the discus. Macyee Theede placed 5th in the long jump.

Qualified Madison athletes will now head to the State Track & Field Meet, May 26th – the 28th at Howard Wood in Sioux Falls.
