Salem and Canova win non-league games on Wednesday

Despite yesterday’s rain, a pair of Cornbelt baseball teams picked up non-league wins on Wednesday evening. Kyle Tuschen hit a two run homer in 6th, and Peyton Cleveland drove in the game winning run in the 7th, as the Salem Cubs won 3-1 over the Dimock/Emery Raptors. Tyler Earls threw seven innings for the Cubs, giving up two runs and striking out 10. 

The Canova Gang also won on Wednesday, 7-3 over the Parkston Mudcats. Cole and Garrett Gassman each had 2 hits and 3 RBI for Canova. 

League play for all 10 Cornbelt teams begins this Sunday. Dell Rapids PBR will travel to Humboldt to take on the Wood Ducks at 2pm. You can listen to that game on AM 1390. Other games Sunday include: Madison at Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks, Canova at Lennox, and Salem at Flandreau. All three of those games will start at 5pm, while Colman will be at the Dell Rapids Mudcats at 7:3pm Sunday Night.
