North Star names Hettick and Sauseda Players-of-the-Week
Two Dakota State athletes were honored by the North Star Athletic Association as the Football Players-of-the-Week. Tray Hettick was selected as the Offensive Player-of-the-Week, while Carson Sauseda was named as the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week.Â
The Trojans defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 41-25 last Saturday to move to 2-0.
Hettick was 18-of-26 for 233 yards with four touchdowns for Dakota State. He opened the game by connecting to Austin Lake for a 48-yard touchdown pass to give the Trojans a 7-0 lead in a game they never trailed.Â
Sauseda had a perfect kicking day for the Trojans. He scored 11 points, and made 27- and 32-yards field goals to go along with all five of his PAT’s. Â
The Trojans return home Saturday afternoon to kick off their eight-game North Star Athletic Association football schedule. DSU hosts Jamestown in the annual Trojan Days homecoming football game, starting at 4pm.Â
There will be a tailgate area that will be open at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The Edward Jones Pregame show on Jammin’ Country 103 will start at 3:30pm.
