NCAA Taking Financial Blows During Pandemic

The financial wreckage due to the coronavirus pandemic in major college athletic departments is becoming devastatingly clear and that’s without factoring in a four billion dollar loss if the 2020 football season is canceled, a development that would forever alter college-level sports.

University systems have suffered hundreds of millions of dollars in losses thus far, which could grow significantly as decisions are made about whether to return students to campuses this fall. Some NCAA schools around the nation have started to cut some of their programs, in a cost-saving effort.

The NAIA is expected to make decisions about the fall during the early stages of July. Dakota State coaches have been able to stay in contact with their teams and recruits during this time and have gotten great assistance from the academic office, as mentioned, with virtual tours.
