Mudcats Shut Out Madison 8-0 in Cornbelt Baseball

The Cornbelt Baseball League was back in action yesterday. The Dell Rapids Mudcats picked up win number two in an 8-0 shutout victory against the Madison Broncos. Dell Rapids started the scoring early by tacking on one run in the first, but did most of the damage in the fifth when they batted around the order and scored six runs. Chad Hunt was three-for-five and scored twice. Daulton Allen picked up the win on the mound, going five innings. A bright spot for Madison was Tyler Tappe, who was the only Bronco in the lineup that did not have a strikeout.

The Canova Gang remained undefeated with a 12-0 win over the Humboldt/Hartford Wood Ducks. Trey Kreir pitched six innings and had two hits at the plate. Despite four errors, Colman beat Salem 6-3.
