Madison volleyball travels to the middle of the state tonight, taking on Rapid City Christian in the SoDak 16, a match being played at Pierre T.F. Riggs High School. Madison advanced out of Region 5 with a 3-2 win over Wagner last week, while the Lady Comets defeated St. Thomas More 3-1 in the Region 8 semi’s.

The Bulldogs got major contributions from the whole lineup in Thursday’s win, including double digit kills from three different players. Madison head coach Jill Kratovil says that depth in production is the key to the Bulldogs success.

Wagner’s explosive outside hitters were the focus of the game plan last week. Kratovil looks for a similar style tonight from Rapid City Christian.

With this East vs. West matchup, the two teams have just one common opponent on the season. Both teams have played Elk Point-Jefferson, with the Bulldogs beating the Huskies twice, and the Lady Comets losing to EPJ back on September 28th.

This is the fourth consecutive year in the “SoDak 16” for the Bulldogs. Madison advanced to state in 2016 and 2017, and were defeated last year by Parker. Rapid City Christian is 1-1 in the “SoDak 16”, advancing to State last season.

Tonight’s match is scheduled to start at 7pm. Pierre is also hosting Groton and Pine Ridge, with that match starting at 5:30. Pregame for the Bulldogs begins at 6:45 tonight on AM 1390, and on the video stream at AmazingMadison.com.
