MHS Tennis team found shelter on the road during Thursday’s storm

While some were able to stay safe from Thursday’s storm in their homes or businesses, others were left seeking shelter while on the road. The Madison High School Boys Tennis team was on their way back from a meet in Watertown Thursday, when the powerful winds forced them to the nearest farm house they could find.

MHS head coach Joe Bundy says they began receiving reports of potential weather while in Watertown.

Bundy said his young team, which consists of seven high schoolers and 12 middle schoolers, handled the situation well.

Bundy said all the students were able to communicate with their parents to let them know what was happening. The Madison boys will take part in the South Dakota State Tennis Tournament in Sioux Falls this Monday and Tuesday.
